Information about the work of the department for work with folk art groups and club institutions in Minsk

The department for work with collectives of folk art and club institutions in Minsk is a structural subdivision of the State Institution "Minskconcert" and is designed to provide organizational and methodological activities of collectives of folk art, club institutions, regardless of their departmental affiliation.

The purpose of the department is to preserve, popularize and develop the best traditions of national art and amateur folk art in modern conditions.

The main activity of the department is organizational and methodological work aimed at improving cultural and educational activities and the development of folk art.

The department conducts, independently or with other organizations, seminars, meetings, creative laboratories, master classes, open lessons, pedagogical schools.

The department prepares proposals and materials for the assignment and confirmation of the title "national", "exemplary", "honored amateur team". To consider issues on improving cultural and educational activities, developing folk art, creative sections are created, which include honored workers of culture and education, heads of professional groups.

All work on organizing and holding events with club institutions of the city, festivals, competitions, folk art shows, advanced training, the formation of the repertoire is provided by 8 employees of the department, 6 of whom are methodologists-genre specialists: in choral, instrumental-orchestral, choreographic, theatrical, visual and arts and crafts, photography, as well as a methodologist for informational activities and repertoire and a methodologist for cultural and educational activities.

Experts possess information and keep records of amateur groups in the main genres of folk art. This is facilitated by the annual collection and analysis of statistical reports on the work of club institutions of various departmental affiliations.

The department has an extensive database on folk art groups and the activities of cultural and educational institutions of our city. Constant contact is maintained with the leaders of club institutions and folk art groups.

The department organizes festivals, shows, contests, exhibitions of folk art, holidays and other events that are included in the work plan of the department and the personal work plans of each leading methodologist, based on their functional responsibilities.
